Gundam fans have had a lot to celebrate in 2026, and next year is looking even better. There's a new anime on the way, as well as Gundam: Rogue Orbit in March, both of which will kick off a new alternate timeline. Then there's the live-action movie that's reportedly in the works, and the finale of the Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway trilogy to look forward to sometime in the future. All of these new releases have meant new model kits, as well as sets for the Gundam Card Game.

Right now, there's not much known about Gundam: Blazing Fist. There's an official trailer, which you can watch below, and a release date. Considering January 2027 is still a few months away, there's an almost guaranteed chance more information related to Blazing Fist will be shared at a later time. Blazing Fist is linked to Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team, so fans of the 1996 series should at least be pleased to see some familiar Mobile Suits showing up.

The official Gundam Card Game website lists the release date for Blazing Fist as January 29, 2027. Other than confirming booster packs once again contain 12 cards, there's nothing else listed. Most expansions lately have around 130–140 cards with an additional 8-10 card types. For example, the upcoming October set of Stardust Trails looks like this:

  • x50 Common
  • x36 Uncommon
  • x32 Rare
  • x12 Legend Rare
  • x5 Special
  • x8 Token

That's 135 cards + 8 card types. Comparatively, the set before Stardust Trails, July's Freedom Ascension, had 138 cards + 10 card types. We expect the set for Blazing Fist to be somewhere around the same size, even if nothing official has been confirmed yet. The same goes for pricing, which isn't listed yet but has typically been $4.99 per booster pack.

Otherwise, there's not too much known about Blazing Fist quite yet. The trailer has confirmed suits from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team will be joining, and it also reveals a card of a Gundam Ez8 unit from that series. This is the customized RX-79 piloted by Shiro Amada, the main protagonist from the 08th MS Team series. So far, this is the only card that's been shown off.

As for the rest, we'll have to wait and see. Considering Stardust Trails arrives at the end of October, expect to see more reveals for Blazing Fist once this month's expansion releases. There should be plenty more information, including a card list and pricing, in the upcoming months. If previous sets are anything to go by, there will also be confirmation of another Gundam series joining the fray when Blazing Fist debuts in January.
