National Cinema Day set for Sept. 12 with P100 movie tickets

The first-ever National Cinema Day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, with participating cinemas offering P100 movie tickets to moviegoers as part of the celebration.
The Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP), which organized the event along with several industry partners including the Film Development Council of the Philippines, announced this on Thursday, Sept. 10.
Moviegoers can avail of the special ticket price for all local and international movies scheduled for exhibition on Sept. 12.

Advance ticket sales for National Cinema Day started on Thursday, Sept.10. Tickets are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis and remain subject to cinema capacity.

“This is more than a promotional event. It is a nationwide celebration of cinema and an invitation for Filipinos of all ages to experience the excitement, emotion, and community of watching movies on the big screen,” CEAP President Irene L. Jose said.
The National Cinema Day initiative is also supported by the Film Academy of the Philippines, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board and the Metro Manila Film Festival through the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. /ra
