NCRPO deploys over 7,000 cops for Sept. 14-15 transport strike
MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) deployed over 7,000 police officers for security measures during a strike mounted by transport group Manibela starting Monday, September 14.
Data sent by the NCRPO to the Inquirer showed the regional police deployed 11 drone operators for monitoring the protest-action, 302 personnel of the Reactionary Standby Support Force and 491 personnel for civil disturbance management, with 1,306 more on standby.

It added that 126 police officers were deployed for traffic assistance during the strike.

The NCRPO noted that 457 personnel were assigned to man checkpoint operations; and 355 to border control points.
Meanwhile, 1,542 personnel were on foot patrols; 1,344 on mobile patrols; and 1,068 on motorcycle patrols throughout the course of the protest-action, according to the police.
Further, 635 police officers were designated to man fixed visibility posts.
Manibela mounted the transport strike to protest the expected increase in fuel prices this week.
