According to Tuttosport, Juventus scouts were in the stands at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo last week when the 20-year-old midfielder contributed to the Sardinians’ 2-1 win over Atalanta.

Romano joined Cagliari on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy from Roma this summer and has already impressed in his first outings with the Rossoblu, scoring one goal in the opening four Serie A games of the season.

Juventus will continue scouting Romano during the season, but the Bianconeri already face competition from Italy as Tuttosport claims that Inter and Napoli are also closely following the promising central midfielder.

Juventus aim to rebuild a strong core of Italian players in the coming years. Mancini’s new Italy squad includes only one Juventus representative: goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
