Husband cuts wife's earlobe over constant TikTok use

MIRI: A man cut his wife's right earlobe with a knife after becoming angry over her constant use of TikTok last month.

Miri district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the incident occurred at a residential premises in Tudan Phase 6 here at 9.26pm on Sept 23.

He said the 49-year-old man attacked his wife after becoming angry over her frequent use of TikTok.

"The incident came to light after the victim's daughter called the MERS 999 emergency line for help.

"Police responded to the emergency call and rushed to the scene before arresting the man," he said in a statement.

Mohd Farhan Lee said the man was sentenced to five years in prison and fined RM2,000 by the Miri Magistrate's Court on Sept 28 after pleading guilty.

He was also ordered to serve an additional three months in prison if he failed to pay the fine.
