The Batman Part II gets major production update from Robert Pattinson after filming halted

Robert Pattinson has confirmed The Batman Part II has officially picked up cameras again after a pause in production.
The sequel to the 2022 film initially started filming in London in May 2026, but was temporarily halted at the beginning of October so director Matt Reeves could deal with a family matter.
However, speaking to GamesRadar+, Pattinson — who follows in the footsteps of Christian Bale as the titular Caped Crusader — has confirmed the film is back in action.
"I think they’re in production already," he told the site. "And I’m starting in a couple of days."

While Reeves will continue to work on the movie in post-production, and the final film will still be how he envisioned it, Oceans 11 director Steven Soderbergh is now working alongside him to finish principal photography.
Pattison praised Soderbergh for his "incredibly generous" involvement, noting that the director had offered his services to help Reeves complete the project.
"It’s completely selfless… I think Matt had put so much work into the script, and we’re almost done," Pattinson explained.
"So for someone to come in and say, 'I just want to help Matt do it; I want to do it in conjunction with him and just get it to the edit.' And to have someone who’s as talented as Steven doing it is great."
While The Batman Part II was initially scheduled for release in October 2027, it has now been pushed back to the tentative date of 18 February, 2028.
Details on what happens in the movie are still under wraps, however it’s been confirmed that, alongside Pattinson, Andy Serkis will be back as loyal butler Alfred, and Colin Farrell will return as iconic villain Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin.
Sebastian Stan is joining the cast as Harvey Dent (who later becomes villain Two-Face), with The Crown’s Charles Dance playing his father Charles Dent, and Scarlett Johansson as Harvey’s romantic partner, Gilda Dent.
The Batman: Part II is set to be released in February 2028.
