Bafana Bafana v Guinea: Date, kickoff time, how to watch and predicted XI

Bafana Bafana will kickoff their 2027 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea and Eritrea this month.

After reaching the round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup, Bafana now turn their attention to the AFCON qualifiers. Under new head coach Pitso Mosimane, they will look to get off to a winning start this weekend.

In terms of players arrival, Samukele Kabini arrived in camp on Monday morning after traveling from Norway overnight. Puso Dithejane arrived from the United States of America just before dinner on Monday night after travelling from Chicago.

Relebohile Mofokeng, Ime Okon, Olwethu Makhanya, Shandre Campbell, Thapelo Maseko and Sphephelo Sithole were the late arrivals.

When will Bafana play Guinea?

Bafana host Guinea this Saturday at the Orlando Amstel Arena. Kick off is scheduled for 15:00 and the match will be televised on Sabc 1.

In terms of squad selection, Mosimane is expected to field experienced stars who featured in the World Cup. With Mbekezeli Mbokazi unavailable due to injury, the likes of Khulumani Ndamane might get a rare start.

After the Guinea match, Bafana will then face Eritrea at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo, Egypt, in the second group match on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.

The South Africans will wrap up their assignments on the road with an international friendly match against Egypt at Cairo International Stadium on 4 October 2026.

Three wins will not only improve Bafana’s standings in the rankings but also get Mosimane to a flying start.
