‘SNL UK’ Pokes Fun At PM Andy Burnham’s Gogglebox Special In Cold Open With ‘Celebrity Traitors’, ‘Graham Norton Show’ & ‘Great British Bake Off’ Parodies

Saturday Night Live UK‘s cold open took aim at Prime Minister Andy Burnham‘s bean stockpile with some help from a few familiar British TV personalities.
On this weekend’s episode of the sketch comedy show, George Fouracres played Prime Minister Andy Burnham with Emma Sidi as Liverpool’s Mayor Steve Rotheram, poking fun at the pair’s Stand Up to Cancer special Friday on Celebrity Gogglebox.
As the pair channel-flipped through Channel 4, Burnham down a whole canister of Twiglets following the PM’s reveal of his favorite doomsday-prepping snacks.
Landing on Celebrity Traitors, Celeste Dring did an impression of host Claudia Winkleman. “What happens when we take 22 celebrities who are too famous to play the game seriously or care whether or not they win, and put them in a castle? The answer: not much, to be honest,” she said.
With Jack Shep playing Graham Norton in his interview with Prince William (Freddie Meredith), the talk show host asked if it’s “true that Harry reached out this week,” to which the Prince of Wales responded, “Shut up!”
On The Great British Bake Bake Off, Ayoade Bamgboyea played Alison Hammond, “the only person everyone in the country likes,” and Larry Dean played “sleep paralysis demon” Noel Fielding.
The cold open ended with future PM Burnham (Paddy Young) visiting his present-day counterpart and giving him the idea to advise Britons to stockpile beans in case of a cyber attack.
This week’s episode of Saturday Night Live UK featured Cynthia Erivo as host, with musical guest Blossoms.
