Organisers confirm official date and venue of 2026 CAF Awards

Organisers of the CAF Awards have confirmed the official date as well as the venue where the 2026 edition of the ceremony will take place.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the date and host city for the 2026 CAF Awards, with the ceremony scheduled to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, on Monday, December 7, 2026.

The confirmation came from the CAF Executive Committee, which announced Lagos as the destination for this year’s edition of the continental awards ceremony.

The CAF Awards recognise outstanding performances across African football, celebrating players, coaches, clubs and national teams that have distinguished themselves during the year.

Lagos will consequently welcome some of the biggest names in African football in December as the continent’s leading performers gather for one of CAF’s major annual events.

The announcement also confirms another significant CAF engagement for Nigeria, with the country set to host the CAF Ordinary General Assembly on Saturday, November 21, 2026, weeks before the awards.

While CAF has confirmed Lagos as the host city, the specific event facility or venue within Lagos was not included in the information announced.

Nigeria seems to be making moves to place itself as a figure in African football affairs a key chracteristic that has been missing for one of the most decorated African countries in football.
