Best heated throws and wearables for 2026

If the one thing that frustrates you about a throw is keeping it in place, you may find this is your ideal solution.
The blanket is still 'open', so there's no fastening, but it features roomy sleeves so your hands remain free to drink tea, read books, grab the remote control – you get the idea.
The other big point of difference compared to many heated throws is the fact that this doesn't plug into the mains. You'll need a power bank with a USB-A connection and this is how the blanket warms up. The power bank plugs into the USB port and fits easily into the little pouch on the front.
The spectrum of temperatures is not as wide as others, with a choice of low, medium and high shown as a green, blue or red light on the switch. However, both low and medium were both sufficient to take the edge off a cold night. It also means you're not tethered to the mains, so you can really sit back and relax.

Pros
- Wide range of timer settings
With eight temperature settings, you won't struggle to find a temperature that will leave you feeling comfortable underneath this generous throw. In fact, it also features a 'high heat mode' which delivers an extra hit of warmth, ideal when you're feeling the chill.
There's a wide choice of timers; you can choose from one to nine hours, leaving you to just sit back and relax instead of remembering to turn it off.
A cosy fabric that retains the warmth, the heat distributes nicely throughout it and it's flexible enough to really get comfortable underneath.

With four colour choices, you can easily find one to match your room decor. While there are fewer heat settings than most, it's a good spectrum of heat, so you don't feel like you're experiencing one temperature extreme.
It's a soft, snuggly fabric that adds comfort and, most importantly, stays put without slipping off.
The throw itself is an ample size, so there's no risk of toes peeking out – and the control is within easy reach, too.It washes easily and dries without any trouble.

Pros
- Good value
- Wide range of heat settings
With nine heat settings to choose from, you can guarantee to find a temperature that feels comfortable for you. The control is easy to use – simply press to turn on, and hold the button to switch it off. There are also nine timer settings, higher than average, so you can sit back without having to remember to turn it off at the end of the night.
It heats quickly and evenly, making the cosy, soft fabric all the more comforting (the thick fleecy fabric cleverly disguises the wires that conduct the heat), and the long cord and proximity of the controller mean you can sit back easily without having to stay close to the sockets.
One useful thing to note is that the instructions are on Lakeland's website, should you ever lose the paper version and need to refer to them.
All in all, this is a hardworking product that's brilliant value.

Pros
- Suitable for couples
Cons
- Slight plastic smell
One of the more expensive options tested, but with good reason, as this throw came in at a generous 200cm x 180cm, making it perfect for couples, mates or an addition to your bed.
While there are a couple of patches along the edges that don't feel as warm, the rest of the throw generates a decent level of warmth (with an overall choice of nine temperature levels). Coupled with the silky soft outer lining and sheepskin-style material underneath, it's a seriously cosy experience.
Like with most throws, this has an automatic shut-off should you wish to use it overnight. The one downside worth noting is that it emitted a slight plastic smell when first switched on, but it dissipated soon enough.

Pros
- Very long cord
Cons
- Can swamp small feet
If it's your feet that suffer during the winter, you'll love this option that targets just this area. With soft fabric and a slip-proof underside, it's easy to keep feet feeling warm and comfortable, whether you're on the sofa or working from home.
The outer lining featured a sleek, velvety fabric, while the lining was a fluffier, sherpa-style fleece effect that mimicked a thick rug. It's one size, so while it caters for all, if your feet are on the small side you may feel it swamps you. Its five heat settings were easily adjustable and the hottest was a good level that didn't feel overwhelming.
It automatically turns off after three hours of running, but it's easy enough to pop it back on if necessary. Its control is detachable, so you can handle it comfortably without reaching down, too. A really inventive idea if you want something exclusively for your feet!

Pros
- Big enough to cover two people
A great value product, this throw comes in four shades (though it’s worth noting that olive green is currently sold out) and with a 130cm x 160cm dimension, it provides plenty of room for two people to use.
With six temperature settings, there's enough of a spectrum to get the desired level of warmth once it reaches its peak (it takes around 10 minutes to do this on the highest setting), and the heat distributes well, with no cold spots in corners.
While there's no timer, the control automatically turns off after four hours. The cable lead is 1.5 metres long, so shorter than others tested, but still provides enough to be used comfortably. The fabric lives up to its name, creating a seriously cosy environment.

Pros
- Easily fits two people
- Soft material
Cons
- Controller a little fiddly
For comfort and style, this has it in spades. Soft and silky, the classic neutral colour means it would match most furniture and complement your home easily.
It heats up in minutes, with six temperature settings to choose from. Even the lowest two settings have a detectable heat, to the point where you may never need the highest setting. While the warmth distributes across the whole throw, with no cold patches, the cables winding through the blanket make it a little less malleable than a traditional blanket. Despite this, at 200cm x 150cm, it's generously sized, and easily stretches across two people.
The controller is easy to use, featuring buttons to click the temperature up or down. There's no timer setting, but it automatically switches off after three hours of continuous use for peace of mind.
There are a couple of factors to bear in mind with this product; one is that due to its size, it's difficult to fold up and put away (so you may be tempted to keep it across the top of your sofa), and the controller shouldn't be placed on the blanket while in use, which can mean it's slightly fiddly to reach.
For a throw that you can get lost under, though, it's a good option.

Pros
- Can be tumble dried
- Quick heat-up process
Cons
- Some cold patches detected
If you're looking for a speedy solution, this is a great option. Upon switching it on, it automatically defaults to the hottest setting on an hour timer. You can adjust it from there, should you wish.
There are six heating options in total, with three auto turn-off timers (going up to nine hours) and a number of colour options (we tested a teal version). While the fabric is soft, with a luxurious velvet feel, the heating elements make the blanket stiffer than a normal throw. We feel it's more suited to covering over the bed or your legs as opposed to your shoulders, for example.
While it can stretch to two people, there were some cold patches detected that are otherwise not obvious when using it alone. Besides this, maintenance is easy, with it being both machine washable and tumble dryer friendly (on a low setting).

Pros
- Generously sized
- Wide range of heat settings
If you’re looking for a product to cover you generously (and anyone you're sitting with, for that matter), this will do the job. While a bit bulky when used on an armchair, on a sofa, you can easily spread out and cover your whole body. It's reversible, with both sides featuring comfortable fabric depending on your preference – one side has a soft, fleece effect, while the other is more of a snuggly sherpa style.
Everything is simple to understand. The control features an on/off switch, temperature control and timer option. There are 10 heat settings – the throw automatically turns on at the middle setting, five, and it's up to you to adjust up or down, depending on how warm you want it. It starts to warm up immediately, reaching the required temperature within 10 minutes.
The heat distributes well throughout the whole product, and because the fabric is so thick and luxurious, the wires that heat the throw are undetectable. There's a 10-hour timer and automatic shutoff function for peace of mind in case you fall asleep, and maintenance is easy, too. The cord detaches easily without a fight, and the throw washes well at a 40-degree wool cycle. The only thing you need to bear in mind is that it needs to be completely dry before reusing or storing it away.
