The Baltimore Ravens believe Jesse Minter is the head coach to lead them to the Super Bowl. What the players didn't know until Thursday night was that he could also lead them to rap.
Minter brought down the house -- or, in this case, the restaurant -- when he grabbed the mic and belted out Eminem's "Lose Yourself" at a team dinner in Minnesota. In his untucked buttoned-down shirt, Minter confidently delivered verse after verse, creating the most unforgettable moment of the Ravens' week that included joint practices and a preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings.
In what looked to be a true bonding experience, the players stood around Minter and joined in shouting the lyrics with their 43-year-old head coach. Wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane put the impromptu performance on his social media livestream.
Although Minter's rapping was a surprise, his musical selection was not. At a fan event four months ago, Minter was asked to name what musical artist he would see if he could attend just one concert. His answer? Eminem.
Minter was named the fourth head coach in Ravens history in January, replacing John Harbaugh after 18 seasons. The players have talked all summer about how Minter has brought new energy and positive vibes to the team, which was evident when he delivered a rap instead of a pep talk at dinner.
