Dungeon Crawler Carl really has taken off in a way that very few works of fiction ever do, garnering millions of fans around the world who are waiting to hear about what he gets up to next. From its very humble origins as a web serial written by Matt Dinniman back in 2019, the LitRPG has since grown to encompass several direct adaptations, with several more on the way.

One of the most exciting of the adaptations we have seen announced so far will transport the IP make the journey across to a TTRPG format, where it feels like it could easily find a home in a very competitive space. Now, we know more about upcoming releases for that release, and it should be quite the accompaniment to the main game.

In case you haven't been introduced to it just yet, the upcoming Dungeon Crawler Carl TTRPG comes from Renegade Game Studios, with a currently scheduled release of the main set in November. Alongside that, the company has confirmed several accompanying releases, including the Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG: Allies & Enemies Miniatures expansion (as first reported by Player.One).

The set is being released for existing fans who want to add recognizable miniature characters to their first game. The official description for the set from the Renegade website reads as follows:

"Enhance your gameplay of the Dungeon Crawler Carl roleplaying games with these 10 prepainted Dungeon Crawler Carl miniatures. This set features many of the most dangerous and friendly characters from the bestselling LitRPG book series ready to use in your RPG campaigns or simply to collect! Inside you’ll find Brynhild's daughters: Hekla & Eva, Bianca & Prepotente and even Lucia Mar in both her day and night forms!"

The full list of characters that make up the expansion include:

  • Hekla
  • Eva
  • Prepotente
  • Lucia Mar Night
  • Lucia Mar Day
  • Quan Ch
  • Florin
  • Bianca
  • Gustavo
  • Cici

While it absolutely isn't a crucial addition if you're planning on playing the base game on launch, it will likely make the whole thing more fun and exciting if you're already familiar with the story. There are alternate miniature sets if the above roster doesn't appeal, with the Mobs of Mordecai releasing at the same time. That includes:

  • Ratkin
  • Bugaboo
  • Incubus
  • Grulke
  • Skyfowl
  • Pocket Kuma
  • Hill Cyclops
  • Human Canadian

Obviously, having access to all of those will undoubtedly be the quintessential experience, but the manufacturer has made it clear that everything beyond the base release is optional. The miniature sets all clock in at a relatively reasonable $65.00, while the base game will set you back a further $120 for the Starter Set and Core Rulebook.

Outside of all that, Dungeon Crawler Carl fans also have a live-action TV show to look forward to produced by Universal International Studios alongside Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door. Filming for that is set to start next year, which should give Dinniman plenty of time to get us the ninth book in the series, to fill the rest of the time while we wait.
