Aggression against Arab nations must cease, says Sisi to Iran’s president

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi reaffirmed his nation’s firm position in support of efforts to restore stability in the region.

The president emphasized Egypt’s expectation that Iran will exert all possible efforts to halt escalation and reach a comprehensive, sustainable, and peaceful settlement to the war—one that ensures the sovereignty of regional states and protects the resources and well-being of their peoples.

These remarks were made during a meeting between Sisi and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS summit held in New Delhi, India.

The Egyptian President underscored the imperative of halting any acts of aggression against Arab nations, in order to maintain good relations and and strengthen the historical and cultural ties uniting the region.

Meeting with Modi

Sisi on Sunday also met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss ways to advance Egyptian-Indian relations and build upon the growing momentum witnessed since ties were elevated to strategic partnership in 2023.

He emphasized the importance of taking concrete steps to strengthen this partnership, including increasing the volume of trade to $12 billion and boosting Indian investments in Egypt—particularly in the manufacturing, technology, clean energy, and automotive sectors.

The Indian Prime Minister affirmed his country’s commitment to further developing bilateral relations across various fields.
