Todd Archer is an NFL reporter at ESPN and covers the Dallas Cowboys. Archer has covered the NFL since 1997 and Dallas since 2003. He joined ESPN in 2010.

FRISCO, Texas -- Twenty-three games into his tenure as the Dallas Cowboys head coach, Brian Schottenheimer has a 9-13-1 record and the full support of ownership.

"Absolutely. There's not any question in Jerry's and I's mind," executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. "He has the team. There's no question they want to go out there and execute and make things happen. "We feel really good ... about our coaching staff. We just have to continue to evolve and get to a point where we can win these football games."

The Cowboys are 2-4 after Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers, dropping two straight games. Next week they play the 2-4 Philadelphia Eagles on ESPN's "Monday Night Football," looking to avoid the second three-game losing streak in Schottenheimer's tenure.

Schottenheimer said he did not need the public show of support.

"I think at the end of the day, I'm focused on the process of turning this around for myself, the players," Schottenheimer said Monday. "Certainly not good enough. We're disappointed with where we're at. We know we need to play better. We know we can play better. And I think at the end of the day, we've got the right guys to do that."

The Cowboys have struggled defensively for the entire season, but the offense, where Schottenheimer serves as the playcaller, has been off the last two games. Dak Prescott has been intercepted four times. Their 29 points in the last two games is the fewest in a two-game span of starts made by Prescott since Weeks 5-6 of the 2024 season.

The Cowboys' running game is 30th in the NFL with 456 yards through six games. CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens were also kept in check by the Packers as Prescott averaged 4.8 yards per attempt.

"In terms of changes, no, we're going to get back to work and we'll figure it out," Schottenheimer said. "We have great trust in our offense. I'm not concerned about our offense. Again, last two weeks, the last two weeks. We own that. It is what it is. It's not been good enough, but we also have a history of being really explosive, really good. And we've done that not only last year, but in four of our games this year."

Asked if he would want his team to be angry or measured following the last two games, Schottenheimer said, "I always like guys that are angry."

"I'd say right now I'm pretty pissed off," he said, adding, "I think they're pissed off too."

Four of the Cowboys' next five opponents -- Philadelphia, Arizona, Indianapolis and Tennessee -- are a combined 7-17. On Nov. 15 they host the 5-0 San Francisco 49ers.

"We're ready for a win," Schottenheimer said.

It's not quite do or die, but it's not far off.

"I'll never not take accountability for the fact that we're 2-4," Schottenheimer said. "It's not what we planned on being. That's not where the standard of what we're trying to do is. But again, I think at the end of the day, these guys are focused on the right things and that's it. We've got to play better. We've got to coach better and it needs to start this week against Philadelphia."
