KORONADAL CITY — At least three local government units (LGUs) in Sultan Kudarat have suspended in-person classes for Monday following reported school threats after a fatal shooting at Banga National High School (BNHS) in neighboring South Cotabato.

In Lebak, classes at all levels in both public and private schools will be canceled tomorrow, Sept. 21, after authorities received reports of an alleged shooting threat involving schools in the municipality.

The Lebak LGU said the suspension was imposed as a precaution while authorities investigated the reported threat. Additional security personnel would also be deployed to help protect students, teachers and other school personnel.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and immediately report suspicious activities or information to authorities.

Classes were also ordered suspended in Isulan, the capital of Sultan Kudarat, on Monday following a reported school shooting threat within the municipality.

Public and private schools at all levels were directed to shift to alternative delivery or modular learning until further notice as authorities coordinate security measures and verify the reported threat.

The Isulan LGU urged residents to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary fear or panic. It also warned that those found responsible for making or communicating threats could be held accountable under the law.

In President Quirino town, face-to-face classes in all public and private schools were likewise suspended on Sept. 21 following the shooting at BNHS.

Schools were directed to shift to modular learning while officials assess their preparedness and ability to respond to similar emergencies.

Meanwhile, the Tacurong National High School in Tacurong City announced stricter security measures beginning Monday.

Under the new arrangement, Grade 8 and Grade 9 students will enter through the main gate, while Grade 7 and Grade 10 students will use Gate 3. Senior high school students in Grades 11 and 12 will also enter through Gate 3.

All students, regardless of grade level, will leave the campus through the main gate.

The school said stricter bag inspections and security checks would also be implemented, particularly for private vehicles entering the campus.
