Doctor Who fans have been handed a second chance to catch two beloved stories on the big screen, with it being confirmed that there will be a wave of encore cinema screenings for The Satan Pit Extended Cut.

The additional dates follow the main event on Monday 23 November 2026, Doctor Who Day, when the feature-length cut arrives in more than 1,000 cinemas across the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Encore screenings have now been added across all six territories for Saturday 28 November. Cineworld will also host an evening 4DX screening on Monday 23 November and Saturday 28 November at all 34 of its UK cinemas.

The Satan Pit Extended Cut stitches together the 2006 two-parter The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit as a single feature film, with restored deleted scenes, extended footage and an exclusive interview with director James Strong.

Starring David Tennant as the Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, the story sees the TARDIS land on Sanctuary Base 6, a remote outpost on a planet orbiting a black hole.

As the base crew uncover something ancient beneath the surface, the Doctor and Rose are pulled into one of their darkest and most unforgettable adventures, facing the terrifying Ood and an evil older than time itself: the Beast.

The two episodes first aired in the UK on 3 and 10 June 2006, and remain among the most fondly remembered stories of Tennant's debut season.

The planet, Krop Tor, hangs in impossible orbit around the black hole, while the crew's Ood servants are turned into a chilling army by the entity trapped below.

Doctor Who: The Satan Pit Extended Cut will be in cinemas on Monday 23 November 2026.
