Trump says Canadian aviation giant Bombardier can no longer sell aircraft in the United States

The US and Canada have been locked in a trade war for over a year, with the US imposing 50% tariffs on certain ‌Canadian imports on August 22.

Canadian aviation giant Bombardier can no longer sell its aircraft in the United States, US President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post on Monday.

"NO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES!" declared Trump, describing the company's products as "not good enough."

He further claimed that over half of Bombardier's revenue comes from US sources, "all while Canada blocks our GREAT American Banks, and Companies, throughout the U.S.A."

He noted that Ottawa previously blocked US aircraft manufacturer Gulfstream Aerospace from doing business in Canada, calling the move "completely unjust and unfair!"

"If they want our Market, they must build here, and stop treating America like a 'piggybank,' he said. "BUY AMERICAN. FLY ON AMERICAN AIRLINERS. ENJOY AMERICAN LIQUOR AND BEVERAGES. SAIL ON LAKE AMERICA. AMERICA FIRST!"

Trump renames Lake Ontario to 'Lake America'

The US and Canada have been locked in a trade war for over a year, with Trump renaming Lake Ontario "Lake America" on August 27, following claims that Canada has been “ripping off the US for decades.”

On Wednesday, Apple Maps officially changed the name of the lake for US users to comply with the Trump order. 

On August 22, the US imposed 50% tariffs on certain ‌Canadian imports after the two countries failed to reach a trade deal, with both trading accusations of derailing days of talks.
