Unai Emery's Focus Fully On Fulham Despite Barcelona Tie

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery insists his side's full focus is on Saturday's Premier League clash against Fulham, despite a high-profile UEFA Champions League trip to Barcelona looming next week. Villa will be chasing a third consecutive Premier League victory when they host the Cottagers at Villa Park before turning their attention to the Spanish champions. "If I am thinking, if we are thinking, after the match tomorrow against Fulham, we are making a mistake, and we are wrong, completely wrong," Emery told reporters on Friday.

"Tomorrow is about Fulham. The Premier League is clearly the priority and that is the message."

The Spaniard, whose team ended leaders Manchester City's perfect start to the season with a 2-1 victory last week, stressed the need for consistency.

"To keep our consistency, to keep our demands and work every day. To get this commitment to maintain the consistency we showed last year. Every match is a test.

"In the Premier League, we still need more points. Of course, we are progressing and getting better. But if we want to be as consistent as we were last season and remain among the top teams, we must focus fully on tomorrow's match and respect Fulham."

Villa currently sit ninth in the Premier League table, three points ahead of Fulham.
