Ex-Japanese adult film actress in intensive care after alleged drugging in Hong Kong

Former Japanese adult film actress Mao Hamasaki was admitted to intensive care at a Hong Kong hospital after being allegedly drugged while working in a club in Tsim Sha Tsui on Sunday morning.
Hamasaki’s manager published a post on her Facebook page at 5.40am on Sunday morning, with two photos showing her in a wheelchair being taken to an ambulance. The post read “drugged while working”.
Hamasaki had performed as a disc jockey at several clubs on Halloween night until the early hours of Sunday, according to her Instagram.
Her manager published another post at 10.02am, saying Hamasaki was admitted to the intensive care unit after testing positive for four kinds of drugs. He added that police were investigating the case.
“It was my negligence this time. I am very sorry to let everybody worry about her,” he wrote.
Her manager said that Hamasaki had consumed a drink offered to her, unaware that it was apparently drugged.
He said he immediately called police, who initially said they were busy. Officers were deployed after the manager said he threatened to “find triads to resolve the problem”.
Hong Kong police said they received a call at 4.57am on Sunday. A man reported to police that his colleague was suspected of being drugged while working at 65 Mody Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. She was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Yau Ma Tei.
The case has been classified as a “request for police investigation”.
Mao Hamasaki retired from the adult film industry in 2024. She moved to Hong Kong and worked as a disc jockey, known as DJ Mao, and recently appeared in a television drama.
