Liam Rosenior breaks silence on Chelsea exit

Translate

The former Chelsea manager has spoken candidly about his difficult spell at Stamford Bridge, describing the experience as both the best and hardest of his life.

Rosenior criticised the media attention he received, particularly the mockery surrounding his touchline instructions to Alejandro Garnacho, his dressing style and the way he communicated. He also hinted that his departure from Chelsea involved issues beyond football, adding that he would reveal the full story when the time is right.

"Any club would have been happy with such a run, but not Chelsea. You get good results and you’re in the spotlight. Then, there was a kind of snowball effect in the media. They made fun of those instructions I gave Garnacho on a scrap of paper when we were down to 10 men against PSG. The clothes I wore became a joke, the way I spoke too.

He continued,

"I am not a joke! You’re the first people I’m talking to about this, and probably the last for a long time, but one day, I’ll tell you what really happened.''

He also insisted that he was not a joke and questioned the preconceived expectations of how a Premier League manager should look and behave.

Liam Rosenior managed Chelsea for 23 matches across all competitions before being sacked on April 22, 2026, after just 106 days in charge. He had 11 wins, 10 defeats and two draws.
