Advance bookings for the Ranbir Kapoor and Yash-starrer ‘Ramayana’ have begun at select locations in North America, nearly a month ahead of its scheduled Diwali release.According to early tracking figures, Dallas has recorded 41% of the reported bookings, although the numbers are said to have been driven by a group bookings.
Chicago accounts for 22%, of the total ticket bookings reported thus far for the November 6 shows, while Washington, DC, contributes 15%.Chicago appears to be the only market showing notable movement for the opening day so far, while the Dallas figures are largely attributed to a block booking. The numbers could change as more cinemas and showtimes are added to the current listings.
No IMAX shows listed for 'Ramayana' yet
While the IMAX screenings have not yet opened, Independent cinema chains have started publishing advance showtimes for ‘Ramayana’, but AMC locations and cinemas in California are yet to appear in the listings. The film is expected to receive a boost in advance ticket sales once IMAX shows open, as the film has been specially made for the big screen.
'Godzilla Minus Zero' takes the lead
Meanwhile, ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ is set to arrive in North American theatres on November 6, 2026, with a special Godzilla Day IMAX early-access screening scheduled for November 3. Tickets for the upcoming Japanese kaiju film are now on sale, with early estimates for the North American opening weekend suggesting that it could outperform its predecessor, ‘Godzilla Minus One’.
According to media reports, ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ is tracking to earn around USD 25 million in its opening weekend at the North American box office. If the projection holds, the sequel would more than double the USD 11.4 million opening weekend collection recorded by ‘Godzilla Minus One’ in 2023.‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ is also being billed as the first Japanese production filmed for IMAX, which could help attract audiences to premium-format screenings and potentially contribute to its box-office performance.
