The Land Transportation Office (LTO) conducted an investigation to identify the registered owner and designated driver of a private vehicle involved in a dangerous driving incident at Hacienda Superclub, Angeles City, Pampanga on November 1, 2026, wherein one individual was hit and several others were put in danger.
After identifying the registered owner and the designated driver, the LTO issued a Show Cause Order (SCO) seeking their explanation regarding the incident.
They were then ordered to appear before the Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) of the LTO Central Office on November 6, 2026, to attend the hearing and submit a sworn statement, along with relevant documents to support their case.
The violations listed in the SCO include Reckless Driving and Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle, which may be grounds for suspension or revocation of the driver’s license.
In the meantime, the vehicle in question has been placed on alarm status while the designated driver has also been ordered to immediately surrender his IID license, which will be subject to a 90-day preventive suspension.
“Lagi kong sinasabi na makararating at makararating sa LTO ang bawat paglabag, lalo na ang mga insidenteng nagdudulot ng panganib sa publiko. Hindi namin ito palalampasin, at inaasahan naming haharap sa aming tanggapan ang mga sangkot upang ipaliwanag ang kanilang panig at sumunod sa itinakdang proseso,” said LTO Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao.
(I always say that every violation will reach and will reach the LTO, especially incidents that pose a danger to the public. We will not ignore this, and we expect those involved to appear before our office to explain their side and follow the established process.)
The LTO reiterates that having a license is not only proof that a person is qualified to drive, but it also carries with it the responsibility to be careful and ensure that other people are not put at risk.
"Every motorist is expected to obey traffic laws and use the road with discipline, caution, and respect for others at all times," the agency said. — BAP, GMA News
