Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil had an impressive start at the box office. The film was released in theaters globally on September 18. It is also the franchise’s biggest opening-weekend grosser in India. Hollywood is having a great year in India, and Resident Evil has joined the list. However, the film’s run has been affected in Week 2 due to new releases at the Indian box office.

The horror drama had a strong opening of 2.6 crore net in India. It opened to 4,314 shows in India with an occupancy rate of 15%. The film wraps its Week 1 under 15 crore net in India. However, despite a slow start at the box office, it lost a massive chunk of its shows to the new arrival at the Indian box office. The film earned just 67 lakh at the box office on its second Friday. This brings the film’s net total in India to 15.37 crore.
