Ameesha Patel breaks silence on parents’ Churchgate home robbery- Exclusive

Ameesha and Ashmit Patel’s parents were allegedly robbed at their Churchgate home, with the siblings relieved that their family is safe.

The parents of Ameesha and Ashmit Patel have reportedly fallen victim to an alleged theft at their Churchgate residence, with gold and diamond jewellery worth approximately Rs 5 lakh missing.

The Marine Drive police have arrested Seema Ghate, 40, a domestic worker from Palghar, in connection with the case. She was produced before a court and remanded to police custody until September 15.According to the police, Seema had been working as domestic help at the Patel family’s residence for nearly one-and-a-half years. The alleged theft came to light after Ameesha and Ashmit’s mother, Asha, approached the Marine Drive police.

Police said a bangle was allegedly stolen in January 2026, following which Asha reportedly suspected Seema’s involvement and, over the next five to six months, urged her to admit to the theft and return the missing jewellery.

However, after the bangle was not returned, Asha lodged a formal complaint with the police.

Ashmit, who lives with his parents in the house, says, “The theft involving our live-in house help, who had been working with us for almost a year, happened in January, but we filed a complaint recently.

My parents confronted her, gave her time to reflect and bring the jewellery back, but she didn’t. The jewellery was worth around Rs 5 lakh. She actually left the job in late June. The police arrested her and are investigating the matter.

”Ameesha says, “I had a long telephonic chat with my family yesterday. The cops have caught the staff member who committed the robbery, and she is now behind bars. She confessed to the theft after being caught by the police.

More importantly, I’m happy that my family is safe and sound and that no harm was done to them.”Police trace accused to VirarThe case was initially registered against an unidentified woman. Following the complaint, a crime detection team, acting under the direction of the senior police inspector, traced the suspect to Virar.Ghate was subsequently detained and produced before the court, which remanded her to police custody until September 15.

Police are currently attempting to recover the missing jewellery and are also investigating whether the accused has any previous criminal record.
