Bayern Munich will be without Joshua Kimmich for its UEFA Champions League 2026-27 league phase clash against Arsenal on Wednesday, following a death in his family, the club announced.

“Due to a death in his immediate family, Joshua Kimmich is not in the squad today for the match against Arsenal,” Bayern wrote in a post on social media.

“On behalf of the family, we ask that his privacy and grief be respected, and that further inquiries and reporting be refrained from. In deep sympathy, the entire FC Bayern stands by Joshua Kimmich’s side,” it added.

Bayern is hosting last season’s runner-up in Munich and will also be without the services of suspended Michael Olise and the injured Jamal Musiala.

Moreover, doubts linger over the availability of head coach Vincent Kompany and club captain Manuel Neuer.
