If M&S’s Instagram comments are anything to go by, the retailer has just delivered this year’s best Christmas TV advert. Its festive campaign stars the award-winning actor James Norton as Santa and Amandaland’s Lucy Punch as Mrs Claus.

Bringing together the stalwart’s fashion, homeware, beauty and gifting, it marks the start of Christmas at M&S.

The advert begins in the North Pole, where Santa undergoes a dramatic makeover after Mrs Claus suggests he might look a little younger without his famous beard. Trading his red suit for a stylish outfit (all M&S, of course), he heads out into London to experience Christmas incognito.
