Major Lazer to Headline Melbourne’s New Year’s at the Bowl

Major Lazer will headline New Year’s at the Bowl in Melbourne on Dec. 31, marking the group’s first Australian show since 2015 as the festival returns for a second year at Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the surrounding Kings Domain gardens.

The Diplo-founded act — now rounded out by Walshy Fire, Ape Drums and vocalist America Foster, who joined in 2025 — headlines a lineup that also includes Don West, DJ Seinfeld, Flight Facilities, CC:Disco!, Helena Hauff and Todd Terje, with a still-unannounced special guest set to close out the night’s countdown to midnight. Major Lazer built its catalog around global hits including “Lean On,” which reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 48 weeks on the chart, and “Cold Water” featuring Justin Bieber, which peaked at No. 2.

The event runs from afternoon into the early hours of 2027 across three stages: The Bowl for main-stage sets, Garden for live music, soul and disco, and the 360-degree Sundial for club-oriented programming. PBS FM’s Milo Eastwood hosts and soundtracks the event throughout the day.

Tickets are available now via a presale running Monday, Sept. 7 through Tuesday, Sept. 8, with general on-sale to follow.

The festival returns following a well-received 2025 debut. “Last year showed how naturally the Bowl and surrounding gardens work for New Year’s Eve,” promoter Mike Ross said in a statement, adding that this year’s lineup is built to keep the event “unmistakably Melbourne: welcoming, musically broad and full of character.”

“Last year showed how naturally the Bowl and surrounding gardens work for New Year’s Eve,” promoter Mike Ross said in a statement. “This year we’re carrying forward the distinct identity of each of our three stages to keep New Year’s At The Bowl unmistakably Melbourne: welcoming, musically broad and full of character.” Arts Centre Melbourne’s Glen Hirst added that the venue — in continuous use since 1959 — has become “the perfect spot to welcome in the new year” for Live Nation’s growing New Year’s Eve programming slate.
