Jimmy Kimmel Takes Aim at Trump’s New Press Secretary: ‘Her Reading is Good for an 11 Year Old’

Jimmy Kimmel set his sights on Katie Zacharia, the latest blonde woman to act as Donald Trump‘s press secretary. On Tuesday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel recounted Zacharia’s disastrous first day of work.

“It was the first day of kindergarten for the new White House press secretary, Katie Zacharia,” Kimmel recounted. “You know, Trump’s been president for quite a long time now. I think it’s been about, what, 50 or 60 years? And in order to keep him awake and interested every six months they bring in a new fawning blonde dolt to add to the rotation.”

He continued, “Things did not get off to a great start for Malibu Katie today. Her first briefing was brief. It was only 14 minutes long, but even in that short time she accomplished exactly what she was brought in to do, which is slobber a whole tube of lip gloss all over the president’s behind.”

Kimmel cut to a clip of Zacharia saying she had wanted to work for Trump for a very long time. “She wanted to work for him for a very long time,” Kimmel echoed. “And really that’s all it takes nowadays. All it takes it that and dressing like you’re about to announce pre-boarding on a Delta Airlines flight.”

After playing another clip of Zacharia reading off a piece of paper slowly and mechanically, Kimmel quipped, “Her reading is good for an 11 year old. He hired a fourth grader to be press secretary!”

The host detailed Zacharia’s background, calling her a “real piece of work.” “She made her name calling Democrats pedophiles on social media and giving weight to Pizzagate,” he noted. “So I’m sure she’ll immediately call for everyone named in the Trump-Epstein files to be punished to the full extent of the law.”

Kimmel aired a series of clips of Zacharia’s work as a talking head in various media outlets, which included her claiming that “woke movie” The Odyssey would make “no money.”

“Well, that woke movie went on to make $1.8 billion,” Kimmel said. “So we got a smart one here.”

He added that many people are wondering how long Zacharia will last after her poor performance at the press conference on Tuesday. “Katie’s first outing was, as her boss might say, a total disaster,” Kimmel concluded. “I was impressed though: Do you know how hard it is to become Trump’s worst press secretary that quickly?”

Zacharia previously served as a junior spokesperson for former Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem. She was tapped to replace Karoline Leavitt as press secretary earlier this week, making her the sixth person to take the White House podium under Trump.
