Former Abia Angels assistant coach Ogochukwu Atube has expressed confidence that she will return to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) very soon.

In an exclusive interview with Sports 247, the Ika local government area of Delta State native said her wealth of experience working with several clubs in the domestic league positions her as a strong option for any team seeking technical expertise. Atube is currently part of the coaching crew at Flying Sports Academy in FESTAC Town, Lagos, where she is mentoring young boys while keeping herself active.

She recalled her journey: “I then joined Flying Sports Academy and worked with them for six years before moving to Goodland Rangers. I handled them from NLO to NNL for two seasons, then started working for clubs in the NWFL. Among the teams that I’ve worked with in the league are Naija Ratels, Abia Angels and Osun Babes.”

Atube worked alongside former Super Falcons goalkeeper Ann Agumanu at Abia Angels until early this season before deciding to return briefly to the grassroots. When asked how soon she expects to rejoin an NWFL side, she replied simply: “I believe in God that it will be very soon.”

The amiable tactician, who looked happy and motivated among the young players she currently tutors, believes her track record makes her a ready asset for any club ready to utilise her services. Her return would add another experienced female coach to the NWFL technical bench at a time when the league continues to seek greater professionalism and development.
