Most-played games range from Clair Obscur to Civ to Elden Ring to Halo 2 and beyond.

HBO spent years hyping up The Night King as Game of Thrones' ultimate threat and supreme villain, only to give him a surprisingly underwhelming and abrupt defeat during the Battle of Winterfell in one of the show's most debated moments. After surviving for thousands of years and assembling an enormous Army of the Dead, the White Walker leader was ultimately destroyed by Arya Stark before ever reaching King's Landing or confronting many of the characters tied to the Long Night.

Beyond that disappointing series of events, fans were also denied an ultimate showdown between Jon Snow and the Night King, a character portrayed by literal sword-fighting expert Vladimir Furdik. The veteran stunt performer and fight choreographer had decades of experience with staged combat, making it all the more frustrating that the series repeatedly teased a direct confrontation between the two without ever delivering on it.

Interestingly, the show's Night King does not actually appear in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, which instead references the mysterious ancient figure known as the Night's King, leaving readers speculating over how those threads will eventually come together in Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.

However, fans won't have to wait for Martin to finish those books, as the Night King is officially returning once again as the Bane of the Living in Game of Thrones: Endless Winter (via GoTL).

The Night King is officially back in Game of Thrones: Legends, taking center stage in the new Kingsroad season, Endless Winter. Running from September 14 through October 12, 2026, the season gives players another opportunity to build toward the Legendary Night King: Bane of the Living, who was originally introduced as a playable Champion in December 2025.

The Night King initially arrived alongside the Bane of the Living Summons, which offered guaranteed Legendary Night King Champion Shards in exchange for Gold, while the Mixed Summon used Splendid Summon Tokens and included him alongside Arya Stark: Winterfell Returned, the Ice Warden, Craster, Jon Snow: King in the North, Alliser Thorne, Benjen Stark, and Ygritte.

As a Champion, the Night King revolves around the Reinforce mechanic, allowing him to replace defeated allies with Skeletal Wights and build powerful synergies around bringing fighters back onto the battlefield.

Endless Winter instead makes Bane of the Living one of the major rewards tied to the current Kingsroad progression system. Kingsroad serves as the standard seasonal reward track, with players earning points through Daily and Weekly Goals to advance through tiers. This season includes Skeletal Wight shards, Summoning Tokens, and recurring bonus chests after Tier 50.

Goldroad, on the other hand, is the premium companion track unlocked through purchases only, awarding additional rewards at each corresponding tier, including 15 Legendary Night King Champion Shards. An Elite Goldroad Pass adds Exalted Tokens, Legendary Gear, additional Summon Tokens, Valyrian Essence, Skill Books, and more.

Game of Thrones: Legends itself is Zynga's free-to-play match-3 puzzle RPG, including characters from Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. It remains highly rated on mobile platforms, currently sitting at 4.8/5 on the App Store and 4.5/5 on Google Play, where it has surpassed one million downloads, and it's well worth checking out if you're a longtime fan of the franchise.
