A 14-year-old boy has been seriously injured following a stabbing in a car park in Manchester.
Emergency services, including armed police, were called to the Arndale Centre in Manchester city centre at 3.20pm today after reports of an alteration on the ninth level of its multi-storey car park.
It is understood the victim, who remains unknown, was involved in an altercation with other unknown males in the moments before the stabbing. He was taken to hospital with 'serious injuries' consistent with a stab wound.
Multiple Greater Manchester Police (GMP) vans and cars were seen parked outside the shopping centre, including on High Street, Dantzic Street and Withy Grove.
At least two armed response units were also deployed to the centre, alongside GMP's Tactical Aid Unit.
GMP said enquiries into the incident are ongoing but has not confirmed if any arrests have been made.
A witness, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Daily Mail she was walking near Shudehill in the city centre when she saw 'police cars, sirens and ambulances'.
'I was scared. I vacated the area as soon as possible because there were lots of sirens and police cars everywhere,' she said.
A police spokesperson said: 'At 3.20pm we were called to reports of a stabbing in a car park at Manchester Arndale.

'Emergency services attended, and a 14-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
'Enquiries are ongoing.'
Detective Inspector Sam Jones, of GMP’s City of Manchester District CID, confirmed the boy's injuries are 'not life threatening'.
He said: 'Detectives at the scene are working extremely hard to process the scene with crime scene investigators. The car park is expected to be closed for several hours, so we ask for your understanding and patience whilst we gather evidence to bring these offenders to justice.
'Detectives and officers will be in the area today to speak with local businesses and members of the public to provide reassurance. This is believed to be an isolated incident with no risk to the wider public.'
GMP is asking members of the public with any relevant information to contact police on 101 quoting log 2050 of 17/10/2026 or via the LiveChat function at gmp.police.uk.
