Teenage boy and pensioner killed in Scotland plane crash

Two people, including a teenager, have died after a light aircraft crashed in Scotland, police have said.
Emergency services were called to the Stirling area at around 4.45pm on Friday, with a 16-year-old teenager boy and a 80-year-old man pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the crash, temporary airspace restrictions are in place over the Drymen area.
These are likely to be in place to allow the Air Accidents Investigation Branch to investigate, police said.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.45pm on Friday, 16 October, 2026, officers received a report of a light aircraft crash north east of Drymen.
“Emergency services attended and a 16-year-old male youth and a 80-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene. Their next of kin are aware.
“The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has been informed, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“Following the crash, temporary airspace restrictions are in place over the Drymen area.
“These are likely to be in place for some time to allow AAIB to conduct investigations. Restrictions include drones.
“You must check if it is legal to fly in your area. It is a criminal offence to fly in restricted airspace.”
