'Brahmastra' actor Saurav Gurjar in judicial custody after woman files complaint over marriage promise: Report

Mahabharat actor and wrestler Saurav Gurjar is in judicial custody after a woman filed a complaint against him in Mumbai. She has alleged that he deceived and harassed her after promising to marry her.

Gachibowli police have registered a case and are investigating.

What the woman has alleged

India Today reported that according to the complaint, the woman came to know Gurjar through Instagram in 2021, and the two grew close over WhatsApp. She alleged that they met in person for the first time on December 25, 2021, and that he promised to marry her and give her the rights of a wife.She further alleged that they lived together while she was in the United States and again after she returned to India.

She claimed he convinced her to quit her job in the US by promising that they would start a business together.The woman also alleged that his behaviour left her unable to focus on her career. According to her, whenever she asked him about marriage, he would block her number and stay away from her.The report further stated the woman claimed that Saurav Gurjar stayed with her from October 2025 to March 2026. She alleged that after the two lived together in Hyderabad, he suddenly disappeared without telling her.

Police action and custody

Based on the complaint, Gachibowli police registered a case and started an investigation. Police reportedly detained Gurjar at Mumbai airport and brought him to Hyderabad for further legal proceedings. He has since been remanded to judicial custody. The allegations are yet to be tested in court.

Saurav Gurjar's acting career

Saurav Gurjar began his acting career on television in 2013. He made his debut with Star Plus' 'Mahabharat', where he played Bhim. The show aired from 2013 to 2014. He later appeared in 'Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman' between 2016 and 2017, playing Ravan and Bali. His film debut came with 'Brahmastra' in 2022.
