Miley, Madonna, ADÉLA & More: Highlights of This Week’s Billboard Charts

Tuesday is new Billboard chart day each week! As all charts update each Tuesday, here’s a look at highlights of the latest rankings, dated Oct. 3 and reflecting the Sept. 18-24 measurement week, according to data tracker Luminate.

Among this week’s chart stars are Miley, Madonna, ADÉLA, Ella Langley and Latin music legend Ricardo Montaner.

As previously reported, Miley returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as Bass Persuades thumps in with 61,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in its debut week. Counting her billings as Miley, Miley Cyrus and Disney’s Hannah Montana, she scores her sixth leader and 16th top 10 album. (Ashley O remains a singles artist.)

Miley last led the Billboard 200 with Bangerz in 2013, following her first four No. 1s in 2006-09. The entertainer is one of three acts to have topped the chart this year and reigned in three or more distinct decades. She joins Madonna (1980s, 2000s, 10s and ‘20s) and Taylor Swift (2000s, ‘10s and ‘20s) for the honor.

Madonna, meanwhile, adds a milestone No. 1 on the Dance Airplay chart from her latest Billboard 200 No. 1, Confessions II.

• Ella Langley

  “Choosin’ Texas” extends Langley’s record for the longest No. 1 run everon the Billboard Hot 100, as it adds a 24th week atop the chart. A week ago, the country crossover smash surpassed Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for the mark.

  “Thank you so much for loving this song,” Langley marveled on Instagram about claiming the record. “I’m running out of hyperboles to describe how I feel.”

• Karol G, Judeline & rusowsky

  “BbY WOW” crowns the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. for a fourth week each. It also rises 7-6 on the Hot 100, where Karol G scores a new best rank, after her other career top 10, “TQG,” with Shakira, hit No. 7 in 2023.

• Madonna

  

  Just as Madonna can always count on her fingers, she has unwavering support from dance radio. She achieves her 10th career leader on Billboard’s Dance Airplay chart, and her third from her latest album, Confessions II, as “Danceteria” struts five spots to No. 1.

• ADÉLA

  

  The Slovak singer-songwriter-dancer becomes the first artist this year with two career-opening simultaneous hits in the top five together on the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S., thanks to “Ain’t in LA” and “Nicole Kidman.”

  On the Hot 100, “Nicole Kidman” blasts 27-11 and “Ain’t in LA” lifts 30-27.

• Euge Groove

  A veteran of Billboard’s jazz charts and beyond, Euge Groove adds his 11th No. 1 on Smooth Jazz Airplay, “The Phoenix.” The song is the title cut from his album of the same name, which in August debuted at its No. 9 high on Contemporary Jazz Albums, marking his 13th top 10 set.

  The saxophonist boasts two Smooth Jazz Airplay leaders this decade, following six in the 2010s and three in the ‘00s (dating to the chart’s 2005 inception). Among his earlier career credits, he played on Exposé’s classic 1988 Hot 100 No. 1 “Seasons Change,” as well as the act’s 1993 top 10, “I’ll Never Get Over You (Getting Over Me).”

• Anthrax

  Cursum Perficio enters as Anthrax’s second No. 1 on Top Hard Rock Albums, after the band first led in 2016. The set also starts at No. 27 on the Billboard 200, becoming the act’s seventh top 40 title, dating to its first in 1988.

• A Perfect Circle

  Another veteran rock band reigns, as “Starless” becomes A Perfect Circle’s second Mainstream Rock No. 1. It first led nearly 23 years ago with “Weak and Powerless.”

• Ricardo Montaner

  

  Genre cornerstone Ricardo Montaner achieves his first Latin Airplay No. 1 with “Para Que Seas Feliz.” The song has been assisted by a remix with Edén Muñoz.

  “My story with Billboard is fascinating,” Montaner says. “It gives me immense pleasure to know that we have crossed generations throughout this career. Alongside the ballad, the duet I recorded with Edén also made a very strong impact in the regional Mexican market, and I feel incredibly proud.”
