Egypt stresses protection of workers in Lebanon, stronger labor cooperation

Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad stressed on Monday, September 21, 2026, the importance of intensifying the efforts of Egypt’s labor representation office in Lebanon to strengthen care for Egyptian workers, monitor their conditions and serve their interests, while supporting cooperation between the two countries in labor, employment and vocational training.

Raddad made the remarks during a meeting with Egypt’s Ambassador-designate to Lebanon Tamim Khalaf, ahead of the ambassador assuming his new duties in the coming period. The meeting focused on ways to enhance cooperation and coordination on labor-related issues.

The meeting addressed the conditions of Egyptian workers in Lebanon and ways to strengthen their care and follow-up, as well as cooperation between the two countries on labor mobility and the exchange of expertise and experience in vocational training, employment, and occupational safety and health.

The two sides also discussed ways to expedite the completion of procedures for electronic connectivity between the two countries in the labor field, helping regulate labor mobility, facilitate the exchange of data and information, and strengthen institutional cooperation mechanisms between the two sides.
