‘Heated Rivalry’ Sets Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Release With Steamy Posters, Collectible Art Cards and Special Features

“Heated Rivalry” fans, rejoice! A collector’s Blu-ray edition of the show’s first season was announced Tuesday morning. The physical release won’t ship out until April of 2027 but is already available to pre-order online.

The upcoming releases include Blu-ray, DVD and 4K editions, all advertised as special collector’s editions although there are no details yet on what special features or packaging artwork the discs will include.

“Heated Rivalry,” which is produced by the Canadian streaming service Crave, streams on WBD-owned HBO Max in the U.S. and became a word-of-mouth sensation upon its debut last November. The series is based on the Rachel Reid book series “Game Changers,” following the star-crossed lovers Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storries), two of the biggest stars in Major League Hockey. What begins as a secret fling between two fresh-faced rookies evolves into a years-long journey of love, denial and self-discovery.

The Blu-ray edition will likely arrive shortly after the show’s second season, which is expected to release sometime in April, 2027. Series creator Jacob Tierney recently said that Season 2 is coming “as soon as humanly possible,” saying fans should “enjoy the yearn” until they can watch new episodes. Fans are also waiting for a new book in the “Game Changers” series. Titled “Unrivaled,” the upcoming seventh book in the series was delayed from from its planned Sept. 29 release date to June 1, 2027 as Reid deals with worsening symptoms of her Parkinson’s disease as well as a busier schedule due to the exploding success of “Heated Rivalry.”
