PlayStation Gamers Can Grab 5 Free Downloads Without PS Plus Right Now

Earlier this year saw the Marvel Cinematic Universe expand further with the launch of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Marking the fourth film in the MCU Spider-Man series following 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, it follows Peter Parker as he has to go it alone as he defends New York against a new telepathic threat. Starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Stranger Things' Sadie Sink, it was met with positive reviews from critics and the audience alike, and even went on to set multiple box office records.

Brand New Day feels like a classic Spider-Man movie in that sense. We watch Peter investigate crime, live in the city that cherishes him, and try to earn back the love of the people he's lost. We watch Spider-Man crash through the sides of skyscrapers and land ass-first in alleyways after bumping off a fire escape. Spider-Man: Brand New Day isn't perfect, but it feels part of a tradition that began in 2002 while acknowledging the currently fraught landscape in which it exists. A tricky balancing act that only Peter Parker could pull off.

Now, three months on, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day is back with another exciting release, and this is one that PlayStation users will not want to miss out on.

Available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users, there are now free Spider-Man goodies up for grabs courtesy of Sony Pictures. By heading over to the PlayStation Store, you will be able to get your hands on a set of five Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars. However, they are only available for a limited time, so you had better hurry.

“Starting today for a limited time, PlayStation Plus members can unlock Spider-Man: Brand New Day Avatars through the Sony Pictures Core app, in celebration of the film being available to watch at home,” Sony's statement read. “PlayStation Plus members can claim a set of special PlayStation avatars at no extra cost, while non-members can claim the avatars when they buy or rent the movie.”

The avatars include images of the main characters from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, including Holland's Peter Parker, Zendaya's MJ, Sadie Sink's Jean Grey, Jacob Batalon's Ned Leeds, and Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle and, despite Sony's wording, these avatars are available to all PlayStation users, and you do not need a PlayStation Plus subscription.

To redeem them, simply head to the PS Store and enter the following codes based on your region:

• Europe: RG8L-32NF-3NLP

According to reports, using the European code will also work if you are in Asia, Australia, the Middle East, or Africa. So, if you loved Spider-Man: Brand New Day and want to decorate your PS profile in support, make sure to grab these freebies before they are gone forever. It is unclear when this will be, but it is always better to be safe than sorry.
