KOTA KINABALU, Oct 12 — Six individuals, including three children, were injured in an accident involving two vehicles on Jalan Bundusan, Penampang, early this morning.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said the seriously injured victims included a 37-year-old woman driving a Perodua Axia, along with a boy and a girl aged eight and five respectively, while an infant sustained minor injuries.

“Two men in a Toyota Hilux, the 20-year-old driver and another unidentified male also sustained serious injuries,” the statement read.

JBPM reported receiving an emergency call at 6.49am, after which a team of 10 personnel from the Penampang Fire and Rescue Station was deployed, arriving at the scene at 7.10am.

All victims received initial treatment from the fire crew before being transported to the hospital via the department’s Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle and a Ministry of Health (MOH) ambulance for further treatment.

The operation, assisted by police and MOH personnel, concluded at 7.57am after the scene was declared safe and under control. — Bernama
