Jason Sudeikis lends his voice to saving the world as a red-feathered and bewildered father in the latest trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 3 that dropped on Wednesday.

“It’s time to suit up. Let’s save the world as a family,” Sudeikis reprising his role as Red in all his mighty cardinal plumage says at one point in the new movie teaser.

In The Angry Birds Movie 3, Red navigates the challenges of fatherhood, rallying his family — including partner Silver (Rachel Bloom), kids Glider (Walker Scobell), June (Emma Myers), Olly (Psalm West), and their pet Fuzzy (James Austin Johnson) — with a pasta party before embarking on their next chaotic adventure.

“Er, Silver, can you please tell our daughter to be a little less gross at the table?” a baffled Red asks before setting out to save the island, yet again, from mysterious green pigs.

Josh Gad returns as the voice of Chuck, while Danny McBride reprises his role as Bomb. Red’s pals join the fun in The Angry Birds Movie 3, the newest installment in the animated franchise that began with 2016’s The Angry Birds Movie and its 2019 sequel.

The feature is based on the popular video games from Rovio Entertainment, a subsidiary of Sega. The ensemble voice cast for Angry Birds Movie 3 also includes Marcello Hernández, Tim Robinson, Lily James, Keke Palmer, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, MrBeast, Salish Matter and Sam Richardson.

John Rice directed the film based on a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman, with John Cohen, Dan Chuba, Carla Connor and Namit Malhotra producing. Rovio Entertainment, One Cool Group, Dentsu Entertainment, Flywheel Entertainment, Prime Focus Studios and John Cohen Production are producers on the film.

The Angry Birds Movie franchise kicked off in May 2016 and centered on an island of flightless birds dealing with the arrival of a group of pigs. Sony Pictures released the first two films, including 2019’s The Angry Birds Movie 2, which have collectively surpassed $500 million at the global box office.

Paramount Pictures‘ Angry Birds 3 releases in theaters on Dec. 23.
