MANAMA, Sept 13 — Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and Sepang International Circuit (SIC) on Saturday launch the 20-day countdown to the highly anticipated race weekend of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026, which takes place from October 2 to 4 at SIC, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

Excitement continues to build for the grand prix spectacle, which will mark the 16th round of the 2026 FIA F1 World Championship.

The public will enjoy a packed programme of activities on and off the track, including concerts by a selection of world-class international artists.

On Saturday, October 3, Grammy-nominated international DJ and music producer Axwell will perform on the stage at SIC, while international star Martin Garrix, who has received several platinum certifications, will headline the post-race celebrations on Sunday, October 4.

Axwell is the co-founder of both Swedish House Mafia and Axwell Λ Ingrosso. He rose to prominence in the early 2000s in the field of remixing, delivering remixes of works by a number of prominent international artists, including Usher, Clipse, Faith Evans, N.E.R.D., Pharrell, Nelly Furtado, and Madonna.

Axwell has claimed a spot on DJ Mag’s “Top 100 DJs” list nine times and won four DJ Awards.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a number of prominent international artists, including Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, U2, Bebe Rexha, Khalid, Macklemore, Avicii, and Madonna.

In addition to his participation in Formula 1, Garrix has also performed at a number of major international events and festivals, including the Winter Olympics, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra Music Festival, and Tomorrowland. — Bernama-BNA
