‘Hoops’ Drama Series Based On Kennedy Ryan’s Books In Works At Netflix

EXCLUSIVE: In a highly competitive situation, Netflix has landed Hoops, based on Kennedy Ryan’s book series, for drama series development. The projects hails from Ryan, Adrian Dukes (All American), Will Packer Media, Chris Paul‘s Ohh Dip!!! Entertainment and Tracey Baker-Simmons.

Series details and storyline are under wraps.

Ryan’s Hoops is a sports romance series consisting of three books, Long Shot, Block Shot and Hook Shot, exploring high-stakes basketball, personal healing, and intense second-chance love stories.

Dukes will serve as writer and executive producer. Will Packer and Sabrina Wind executive produce for Will Packer Media, along with Chris Paul, CJ Paul and Jacqueline Taylor for Ohh Dip!!! Entertainment; Ryan and Baker-Simmons.

Dukes served as a co-executive producer on All American and was a producer on Prime Video’s Motorheads. Additional credits include BET’s The Quad, Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living and The Ricky Smiley Show. He is repped by Rain and Paradigm.

Ryan is in a first-look producing deal at Universal Television under her Scribe Chick Media banner. She is executive producing and co-writing the adaptation of the pilot of the first book in her Skyland series Before I Let Go, which received a series order at Peacock earlier this month. Her most recent novel, Score, the second in her Hollywood Renaissance series, published in May, became an instant New York Times bestseller. Ryan is repped by CAA, Untitled, BookEnds Literary Agency and GKSD Law.
