India's Yuki Bhambri and American Ryan Seggerman claimed the doubles title at the ATP 250 Almaty Open, defeating top-seeded Austrians Lucas Miedler and Neil Oberleitner in a thrilling three-set encounter on Sunday. The Indian-American pair secured a 7-6(3), 6-7(1), [10-2] victory to lift the trophy at the Almaty Arena. The title was Bhambri's fifth ATP Tour doubles crown. The opening set was tightly contested, with both teams holding serve confidently. It was eventually decided in a tie-break, where Bhambri and Seggerman prevailed 7-3. In the second set, the Austrian duo fought back to level the match, dominating the tie-break 7-1 and forcing a deciding match tie-break.

Bhambri and Seggerman took control from the opening points of the match tie-break, producing a commanding display to seal a 10-2 win and clinch the title.

The match lasted one hour and 26 minutes. During the contest, the Indian-American pair fired six aces and committed just one double fault. Their Austrian opponents recorded three aces and one double fault.

In March, Bhambri reached his maiden ATP Masters 1000 semifinal at Indian Wells. He has also made the doubles quarter-finals at Masters 1000 events on multiple occasions, including Indian Wells and the Miami Open in 2025.

In February, Bhambri climbed to a career-high ATP doubles ranking of world No. 20, becoming the first Indian men's doubles player since Rohan Bopanna to break into the Top 20.

The Indian has steadily progressed since the 2025 season, when he reached the US Open doubles semifinals alongside New Zealand's Michael Venus. The pair were narrowly beaten by the British duo of Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski after holding a set-and-break advantage.

In March 2025, Bhambri claimed his maiden ATP 500 doubles title at the Dubai Tennis Championships, partnering Australia's Alexei Popyrin.
