Ram Charan’s wrist cast and rods removed after surgery

Ram Charan is making steady progress in his recovery from the wrist injury he sustained while shooting for ‘Peddi’. The actor has now undergone a planned follow-up procedure at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, where doctors successfully removed the cast and rods from his wrist.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the procedure was performed by Dr Praveen under the guidance of Dr Rajasekaran and Dr Sabhapathi. The latest development marks another stage in Ram Charan’s rehabilitation following surgery for his right wrist injury.The actor had sustained a sports-related triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) tear while filming physically demanding sequences for Buchi Babu Sana’s Peddi.

After initial non-surgical treatment failed to resolve the injury, he underwent surgery at Ganga Hospital in July.

Ram Charan to undergo 8–10 weeks of intensive physiotherapy

With the cast and rods now removed, Ram Charan will enter the next phase of his recovery. Reports suggest that he is expected to undergo around 8–10 weeks of intensive physiotherapy and rehabilitation to regain strength and mobility in his wrist. His return to film sets will depend on his recovery and medical clearance, with reports currently suggesting that he could resume shooting after mid-November.

Ram Charan also suffered an eyelid injury while shooting ‘Peddi’

The wrist injury was not the only setback Ram Charan faced during the making of Peddi. The actor had earlier suffered an eyelid injury while shooting in Hyderabad and underwent a minor procedure. His father, actor Chiranjeevi, subsequently thanked the doctor who treated him.Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, required Ram Charan to undergo physically demanding action and sports sequences. The actor plays a character involved in a sporting world, with the role requiring considerable physical preparation.

Ram Charan and Sukumar to reunite after ‘Rangasthalam’

Once he completes his recovery, Ram Charan is expected to move on to his next major project with director Sukumar. The yet-to-be-titled film, popularly referred to as RC17, marks the duo’s reunion after Rangasthalam.The project was announced in 2024 and has been in development, with Devi Sri Prasad attached as the music composer. Recent reports have suggested different timelines for the film’s launch and shooting, while a 2028 theatrical release has also been reported. However, the makers have not officially announced a release date, so the timeline remains subject to change.
