Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Maintenance in Five Areas on October 12

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in parts of Kajiado, Nairobi, Nyeri, Meru, Embu and West Pokot counties on Monday, October 12, 2026.

The planned outages will take place at different times across the affected areas as the utility company carries out maintenance on its electricity distribution network. Customers have been advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the interruptions.

Nairobi Region

Kajiado County: Ngong and Kajiado

The outage will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include parts of Ngong Town, Zambia, Scheme 305, Elpaso, Olepolos, Vet Farm, Juanco, Kangawa and Bulbul. The interruption will also affect the whole of Kerarapon, Masai School, Ngong Road and adjacent customers.

Nairobi North: Peponi

Electricity maintenance in the Peponi area is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected locations include Peponi Road, General Mathenge Road, Donyo Sabuk and Spring Valley Road, alongside adjacent customers.

Mt Kenya Region

Nyeri County: King’ong’o Prison and Garden Estate

The planned outage will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected customers include Coca-Cola, King’ong’o Prison, Good Shepherd Academy, Nyeri Primary School, Rware Secondary School, Nyeri Baptist, Nyeri Inn, Autospin Garage and King’ong’o Estate, as well as adjacent customers.

Meru County: Igembe Tea Factory and Kimongoro

Maintenance is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected areas include Igembe Tea Factory, Igembe Boys, Amungeti Tea Factory, Kimongoro Market, Athi Market, Red Canteen, Kilindine, NCME, Antobochiu, Kaweru, Ntherone, Kiancia, Ugoti, Teera, Marega, Amwamba, Kagoma and Ikuu, alongside adjacent customers.

Embu County: Gatondo and Kiamuringa

The electricity interruption will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Affected locations include Gatondo, Maramuri, Kiamuringa, Havard, Muchonoke, Mungau, Minuri, Mwangaza, Kambaru, Makunguru, Siakago Market, Siakago Girls, Gitiburi and Gikuyari, as well as adjacent customers.

North Rift Region

West Pokot County: Serewo and Kacheliba

The planned maintenance will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas expected to be affected include Pkopoch, Serewo, Kitelakapel, Kacheliba, Orolwo, Kodich, Konyao, Kasei, Kiwawa, Kamketo, Chelopoy and Alale, alongside adjacent customers.
