'I have no information,' Tuan Ibrahim on BN talks

KOTA BARU: Perikatan Nasional (PN) deputy chairman Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said he had no information on whether the coalition was among two political coalitions scheduled to meet Barisan Nasional (BN) next week to discuss possible cooperation ahead of the Melaka election.

"I have no information," he said.

Tuan Ibrahim, however, said he was confident that the negotiating committee had already begun discussions at the state level.

Earlier, BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the coalition would hold separate meetings with two political coalitions next week to discuss possible cooperation in the Melaka election.

He said the meetings would be held at the BN headquarters at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.

The meetings will be led by Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and Melaka BN chairman Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, together with top leaders of the two coalitions.

However, Zahid, who is also Umno president, declined to identify the coalitions, saying discussions had yet to begin.
