Oklahoma Sooners vs. Florida Gators: Final Injury Report for Week 10

Translate

The Oklahoma Sooners are on the road on Saturday night, visiting the Florida Gators at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville for the very first time. Before kickoff, the game-day SEC student-athlete availability report was released with final injury designations for both teams.

It was a busy injury report week for the Sooners, but they'll have a few players available who had popped up on the report this week. Wide receivers Jer'Michael Carter and Elijah Thomas, tight end Rocky Beers, offensive lineman Jake Maikkula, defensive lineman Kenny Ozowalu, and defensive back Eli Bowen have been cleared to play against Florida.

OU will be without wide receiver Trell Harris, tight end Trynae Washington, offensive linemen Ryan Fodje and Fred Hinton, linebackers Taylor Heim and Cole Sullivan, and defensive backs Dakoda Fields and Jacobe Johnson this week.

Two key players are game-time decisions against the Gators. Offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis and defensive back Peyton Bowen still have their statuses up in the air as kickoff in The Swamp approaches.

The Gators got some good news, as wide receiver Bailey Stockton and defensive lineman Emmanuel Oyebadejo are available for this game. Florida will be without wide receiver Vernell Brown III, tight end Evan Chieca, offensive lineman Emeka Ugorji, defensive lineman Jeremiah McCloud, and inside linebacker Jaden Robinson.

For the Sooners, that means they'll have their full complement of skill-position players available Saturday night, except for Harris and Washington. The offensive line is still banged up without Fodje and possibly Pierre-Louis, the two projected starting guards coming into the year, but the five-man unit of Michael Fasusi, Noah Best, Maikkula, Heath Ozaeta, and E'Marion Harris is the healthiest the o-line has been in weeks.

Defensively, the front line is healthy, but Sullivan's absence still hurts linebacker depth at the second level. OU's cornerback spot gets a boost with the younger Bowen brother back in the lineup, but they're still missing their No. 3 and No. 5 corners in Johnson and Fields. If the elder Bowen brother plays against the Gators, the safety room would be intact on the road. If not, the starters will be Michael Boganowski and Omarion Robinson.
