‘Abbott Elementary’ Welcomes Miranda Cosgrove, Edi Patterson & Ali Wong As Season 6 Guest Stars

EXCLUSIVE: Abbott Elementary is setting up for another season full of famous faces.
Miranda Cosgrove, Edi Patterson and Ali Wong will all guest star in upcoming episodes, Deadline has confirmed. Details on their characters remain under wraps.
This is a milestone season for Abbott Elementary, which will hit its 100th episode around the fall finale. The episode was recently filmed at Disneyland, ahead of the Season 6 premiere on ABC last week. It’s not yet clear how the teachers (and perhaps the students) will get from Philadelphia to Anaheim, but that storyline is likely to begin unfolding in future episodes leading to midseason.
There are a ton of options for how these three women might appear in the show. Season 6 started off with a flex, featuring cameos from several 76ers stars including Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown, and VJ Edgecombe. Throughout its run, Abbott has had its fair share of high-profile guest stars from Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber and Eagles players Jason Kelce, Jalen Hurts and Brandon Graham to Bradley Cooper and Questlove — all of whom played themselves.
The series has also added actors including Ayo Edebiri, Taraji P. Henson and Leslie Odom Jr. to the extensive guest cast as scripted characters including family, friends and school district nemeses.
Abbott Elementary returns Wednesday night with the second episode of the season. The episode, titled “Check-Ins” follows Gregory (Tyler James Williams) as he juggles the demands of his two roles, while Jacob (Chris Perfetti) and Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter) struggle to compromise. Meanwhile, Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph) manages a delicate situation with a student, and Janine (Quinta Brunson) checks in with Courtney.
Cosgrove was most recently seen in Netflix’s The Wrong Paris opposite Pierson Fode. She is best known for starring in the title role of the Emmy-nominated Nickelodeon show iCarly, which aired for 6 seasons and is currently one of the most viewed shows on Netflix. She also executive produces and stars in the reboot for Paramount+, which is entering its third season. She is repped by Untitled Entertainment and Gersh.
Patterson earned a 2026 Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of Judy Gemstone across all four seasons of HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, on which she also served as a writer and consulting producer. Her latest projects include the comedy Brian, which premiered at the 2026 SXSW Film & TV Festival, and Netflix’s animated series DANG!. She will next appear alongside Cameron Diaz in Netflix’s action comedy Bad Day, debuting December 11, and in The Girlfriend, directed by Natalie Morales. She is repped by CAA, Range Media Partners and HJTH.
In addition to helping launch Netflix’s highly decorated original title Beef, Wong Ali Wong is known for her breakout Netflix stand-up specials Baby Cobra, Hard Knock Wife, and Don Wong. She released her fourth and latest Netflix comedy special, Ali Wong: Single Lady in 2024 and will lend her voice as the lead in the Netflix animated movie Steps later this year.
