Indonesian police name three officers suspects in wiretapping case

Translate

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has named three officers as suspects in an alleged illegal wiretapping and electronic data deletion case.

Head of Polri's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), Commissioner General Asep Safrudin, said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the three officers, identified by their initials as LSP, ASN, and EH, were named suspects following witness questioning and the seizure of evidence.

The police have taken the three suspects to Polri headquarters in Jakarta for detention.

The announcement came amid online reports claiming that Polri is investigating several senior officers over allegations of illegally tapping President Prabowo Subianto.
