Watch: Diana's brother says press has 'cancerous influence' on Harry and Meghan's lives

Translate

Earl Spencer has told the BBC that there are similarities between the way his sister Diana, Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been treated by the press.

He said Princess Diana was "brought low" by press criticism of her and that it is a "pity" to see echoes of that in Harry and Meghan's lives now.

He added that people should learn from Princess Diana's example, and that for anyone being "destroyed daily" by the tabloid press, it must be a "cancerous influence" on their lives.

The full interview with Laura Kuenssberg, Princess Diana: My Sister's Story, will be available on iPlayer from 16:00 and broadcast on BBC One at 18:30 BST on Sunday.
