Marcos honors 10 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday honored 10 outstanding Filipinos for their exceptional dedication to education and national security during the 2026 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos.
He presided over the awarding of the Medallion of Excellence to the 10 honorees during a ceremony at Malacañan Palace, where four teachers, three soldiers, and three police officers were recognized for exemplifying patriotism, integrity, courage, and social responsibility.

The awardees are SSgt. Joebelle O. Cerdinio (SC) PA; Lt. Col. Rommel M. Geli PN(M); SSgt. John Daren P. Noche PAF; PMaj. Baby Rose P. Cajulao; PLt. Col. Robert R. Mansueto; PMSgt. Dwight Alexis B. Supsupin; Emmanuel D. Guarde, PhD; Cecilia O. Bucayong, PhD; Jefferson A. Hora, PhD and Sheila Marie M. Amigo.

In his speech, Marcos said he was “very, very honored” to meet and recognize the awardees who come from different backgrounds but share a commitment to public service and self-sacrifice.
“Each chose a life of service and remained committed to it throughout all these years. And the value of that service can be seen in what they leave behind: stronger institutions, safer communities, [and] lives changed for the better,” he said.
“In many ways, the work of our honorees reflects the larger initiatives of the government in supporting our teachers who help our youth, strengthening the capabilities of those who protect us, and giving our [police] the right tools to keep us safe,” the president added.
He said the awardees serve as reminders that nation-building is not confined to high office but is carried out in classrooms, institutions, and communities across the country.
The annual program is carried out in partnership with the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Philippine Savings Bank, Rotary Club of Makati Metro and Rotary Club of New Manila East. /gsg
